Our Bands

At Lions Youth Brass, our mission is to empower young musicians through high-quality brass band education and performance opportunities. We believe in the transformative power of music, and we strive to create an inclusive environment where youth can develop their skills, express their creativity, and build lasting friendships.

Youth Band

Through concerts, competitions, tours, and community events, Lions Youth Brass aims to inspire the next generation of musicians while creating memorable experiences both on and off the stage. The band regularly represents the region at national competitions and has performed at prestigious venues and events across the UK and Europe.

Academy Band

Through regular rehearsals, concerts, competitions, and community performances, the Academy helps young musicians develop ensemble skills, musical expression, and a lifelong love of brass music. As part of Lions Youth Brass’ three-tier training structure, the Academy provides an important stepping stone between beginner groups and the organisation’s top-level Youth Band, helping players grow both as musicians and as individuals.

Debut Band

With expert tuition and regular rehearsals, the band helps players build essential skills such as listening, teamwork, rhythm, and performance technique. As the first stage of Lions Youth Brass’ three-tier development programme, the Debut Band creates a pathway for young musicians to progress into the Academy Band and eventually the Youth Band as their abilities grow.
